Cigarette Butts and Our Environment

 Cigarette butts cause a serious imbalance in the ecosystem .While most people are aware of the health risks involved in smoking, few seem to realize that cigarettes are also bad for the environment.Cigarette butts may seem small, but with an estimated 6.3  trillion butts littered every year make it enormous.

 

Coral reef

Yesterday, I saw a video relating coral reef. The video was mainly about coral, it’s born, importance to the ecosystem. What amazed me the most was baby coral .Coral’s importance is also astonishing. Corals are like the safeguard to the shore against storm, shelter to the million marine species, sources of nutrient foods, antibiotics and medicines. Ohh…I just forget to mention about its beauty, coral brings billions of dollars to its host country through tourism. The artistic view of coral and coral reef is breathtaking. Don’t worry it’s not all about the coral. We people have also share a part in this story. Like the other cases, we are giving reward to this priceless work of corals by ensuring a place where surely no coral can survive.

Micro beads are tiny plastic particles which are used in many personal-care and beauty products, such as facial scrubs, soaps and toothpastes. They do not dissolve and can persist in the environment for decades just the way plastics do .US is going to prohibit the manufacture of products containing plastic micro beads....But the fact is, people of developing countries are still unaware of this eminent threat.
